lll. Discussion:
Lee Webster, Brewster Public works- The tree carver was contacted and can start work in the fall. The City is going to pay to have the trees trimmed and will pay for some of the cost and if the Chamber is interested in donating it would be fine and perhaps help deciding the designs. The Salmon Derby may be interested in paying for a tree but nothing has been decided yet that we know of. We need to find out how much the City is going to pay so the Chamber can discuss what follows.
The city received a multi-million $ grant to work on the water system, big news for the City.
Avis reported for the City of Brewster that National Night out did not get as many visitors nor booths this year. But it was still a very nice turn out and a lot of car seats were handed out. The City plans to be more aggressive next year and hopes to get the businesses more involved.
Avis brought up Trick or Treat night on Main street as she has been involved with that for many years and wants to know if the Chamber is wanting to carry on with that. If not she and the Chief of Police Nattalie have formed a group and will have it. She does not want it to go away
Anna is planning Special meeting to go over budget and activity’s for 2018, and hopes to have that in October.
Anna suggested having an Old Time Christmas theme with like a horse and sleigh, caroling and get the big Tree lighted and have a ceremony there and on Main Street. We need to decide very soon.
Avis reminded us of when they had Christmas on the Columbia where businesses would put together a basket and people would go around town and get tickets from the Businesses and there would be a drawing at the Cove. Lots of ideas. We need to bring back some of them , but need to get the businesses on board.
